Carn Engineering is based in Newtownabbey and operates throughout Ireland and the UK.

We provide statutory engineering inspections, testing, examinations and certification of workplace machinery alongside consultancy support to businesses. Our procedures and processes ensure that we consistently deliver high quality, client-focused care in line with the regulatory requirements of Health and Safety legislation in the UK and Ireland.

 Gary Keenan is a chartered engineer. He graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast with a BEng (Hons) in 2007. With over 30 years’ professional experience within the engineering and inspection industry, Gary has become renowned for his attention to detail.

​

He began as a heavy plant fitter for a large marine civil engineering company then moved into quarry management for one of the leading aggregate and blacktop producers. Gary then entered the inspection industry as an engineer surveyor and progressed to the role of Chief Engineer. 

​

Dedicated to the industry, Gary is a member of the following institutions: the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE) and the Bureau of Engineer Surveyors.  He has also been a stakeholder in the Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed), where he was a member of the board of directors, the Technical Steering Committee (TSC) and the Technical Committee for Lifts and Cranes (TC 2)
